"Midnight Muddles"

Have you ever noticed how life so easily can generate unexpected confusion?
Suddenly you find yourself lying awake at night when the midnight muddles without warning--hit. You are wide-eyed and in a daze -- lying in the dark -- mystified!

(You) God! Are you there? (God) always my child - I neither slumber nor sleep. What can I do for you? (You) I am having the midnight muddles -- I'm scared. What's going on? Why am I awake? HELP!!!

(God) My comfort is this, "Behold, I tell you a mystery: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed -- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet." (1 Cor 15:51-52a). Did you know that a twinkle is faster than a blink? Does this offer you peace -- calm your heart -- get rid of your midnight muddles? Or are you continuing to bobble there in your bed?

(You) I'm stunned. What did you say? It's a mystery? We are all not going to sleep? You mean I have to lay here awake and scared?

(God) Get up my child -- open your Bible and read 1 Corinthians 15:51-52a. I guarantee, it will offer you inner peace in your heart. Now go back to sleep and my angels will keep watch. If the trumpet blows -- you will know it, and the midnight muddles -- GONE!
