I will sing of he mercies of the Lord forever - I will sing! I will sing! In Psalm 89:1 it says,
"I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever, with my mouth will I make known your faithfulness to all generations."
Have you ever taken a hymnbook and just picked out songs and sang them to the Lord? I do this quite often and it uplifts my soul and spirit to the Lord. I love music, its harmonies, medlodies, and the peace I feel in my heart when expressing the songs to the Lord. I know this pleases God. Sometimes it is very overwhelming. This quiet, private time with God can bring me to tears, as I worship the Lord. God is so good to us and loves it when we offer Him praise. It is a sweet surrender to Him - our great God and Creator. He loves our praise and tells us in His word to
"make a joyful noise unto the Lord." Psalm 100:1
One song I sing often to the Lord is called, "Lord, I have Shut the Door." Here is a couple of the verses:
"Lord, I have shut the door, Speak now the word, Which in the din and throng, Could not be heard; Hushed now my inner heart, Whisper Thy Will, While I have come apart; While all is still.
Lord, I have shut the door, Here do I bow; Speak, for my soul attent Turns to Thee now. Rebuke Thou what is vain, Counsel my soul, Thy holy will reveal, My will control."
It is important to carry a musical truth with you throughout each day. Maintain a joyful faith choice responses are enhanced with appropriate melodies, harmonies, and rhythms about your feelings toward God who offers you unusual spiritual strength and encouragement. After all, hymns breathe the praise of the saints, the vision of the prophets, the prayers of the penitent and the spirit of the martyrs. "Simply trusting every day" along a "stormy way," "in danger" when "the path is drear" "if the way is clear" - what a valuable lesson for each of us to learn. We are so prone to look ahead in life to see how our problems will be solved or where our path will lead. God's way in our lives is always far superior to the path we might have chosen. Consciously commit every problem or concern to Jesus, trusting Him fully to guide you in the right way and deliver you from all useless worry. Sing His truth as you go about your day today. I guarantee you will be blessed.
"Bless the Lord O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name." Ps. 103:1
