THE LION (or other wild animal) IS AWAKE AND READY TO POUNCE! ARE YOU ALERT & WATCHING?(danger + deceit = devil on the hunt)
"And Jesus answered and said unto them: Take heed that no one deceives you" (Matthew 24:4)
The dangerous gathering dark clouds that we see forming today on the horizon, and the threatening storm that is brewing into a huge catastrophe across the world - ready to blow wide open, hopefully will capture our attention immediately and drive us promptly to the Word of God.
The devil is alive and well on planet earth. He's looking for you - he's looking for me. We have become fallen prey to his evil schemes of being allowed one more golden opportunity to deceive us - he thinks he will win; and for those outside of Christ - sadly he does win. It's essential - an essential priority that you get your life right with God now. As they say, "time is of the essence."
Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:22, "And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened."
Even the best of us may be deceived - in our world today - we see it happening everyday. We are easily "taken in" as we want to believe nothing is as bad as it seems or appears. The fact is that whenever we look for signs, we become very susceptible to being deceived. Watch out for the false teachers and prophets around with counterfeit signs of spiritual power and authority. The only sure way to keep from being deceived is to focus on Christ and his words. However, we must face the truth - the devil knows how to deceive and is very convincing. Jesus warned the disciples to be careful lest they be deceived.
As Christians who know Jesus we must be aware and on-guard of the schemes of the devil. Don't be an ostrich who looks around and then sticks their head in the sand hoping whatever the disturbance was is gone when they come back up out of the sand. The devil is like a roaring lion waiting for its prey.
1 Peter 5:8 says, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour."
We must be watchful! Do not let your guard down. We must watch and pray, unless we enter into temptation. We must give our 100% obedience to Jesus Christ and be totally in love with him. He can be trusted - He will never let us down or deceive us. The Lord knows we are living in difficult days and He is there to help us. We can trust His promises and claim them. Ask Him to give you a hunger for His word - and stay on that diet so you can stay close, and free from having the wool pulled over your eyes by the devil.
