THE JOY OF DWELLING WITH GOD WITHIN HIS LOVELY TABERNACLES - O LORD OF HOSTS!
God is holy, all the earth bows down and my soul sings, yes even faints for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Blessed is the man who trusts in You! Praise to the Lord of Hosts! The Most High over all the earth. O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer, Give ear - listen to me. A day in Your courts is better than a thousand. O God no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Restore us, O God of our salvation. Show us Your mercy, O Lord, grant us your salvation. I will hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints but let them not turn back to folloy. Mercy and truth have met together. I will walk in your truth. (thoughts from Psalms 82-84)
Jesus promised to prepare a dwelling place for us with the Lord. In John 14:2 Jesus tells us,
"In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you."In order for us to go there, we must first have Jesus dwelling in our heart.
Don't just dwell with God on a Sunday morning pilgrimage. Every day seek His presence through prayer and Bible Study. Find the time to celebrate the joy of being a Christian and let the Savior know how thankful You are for what He has done for you.
As Saint Augustine said, "Our hearts are restless till they rest in Thee."
"Blessed are those who dwell in your house," says the Psalmist. They are ever praising You."
If you want to learn about God and come to know God personally, start with church. It is why we meet together.
"Where two or three come together in my Name, there I am with them" (Matthew 18:20).
Let us take God for our hope!
