GOD CAN USE LIFE'S STOPS TO KEEP US MOVING!
Everyone is different. Each of us react to unexpected, startling trials that suddenly appear in unpredictable ways. We are not immune to discouragement's and despondency just because we belong to the Lord. We handle disappointments at times, with emotions that are out of control. All of us will experience days when we reach into the cookie jar for a cookie - only instead grab the tail of a wiggly, fuzzy, ugly, dirty little brown mouse. We unleash a terrified scream and run from the kitchen, dropping the cookie jar onto the floor breaking it into smithereens - cookies flying everywhere as Mr. Mouse heads for the nearest crack in the floor and escapes being caught. "No God-not again! I can't bear any unforeseen trial today!" we cry. However, God knows that disappointments of life build character. The crisis experiences of life may be painful, but going through the process produces a joyful result. God does not want us to try and escape or run away and scream. He has promised to deliver us from every crisis, fear, or out of the blue experience we encounter.
Those wiggly, fuzzy, dirty little mice that creep into into our lives, frighten most of us - we just want to get as far away as possible from the awful creatures. However, we know that God only sends our way problems and trials that are good for us. He wants us to practice fulfillment in our life as we trust Him to deliver us. So instead of running away, run into the arms of your loving heavenly Father - He has a purpose for whatever it is you are facing or running from today. Jesus never ran away from the hard places of life.
Do you see the mouse in the cookie jar as an opportunity the Lord has suddenly thrust infront of you? Or are you going to handle it as an obstacle and probably be defeated in the end? Our optimisim is based on our faith.
What is in your cookie jar that is frightening you? God wants us to deal with these areas of our lives regarding astonishing things He may have cross our path. Will you let Him, child of God? Can you release all your fears over to His control? He does not want to pamper us, but He does desire that we trust Him completely with our lives. No matter how difficult the problems of life, we need not fear because God is our refuge. He gives us the spiritual power we need to keep going in spite of the difficulties. Fear will destroy our faith and take away our strength. The Spirit of God encourages us to move forward.
Don't run away from that mouse in the cookie jar - be determined to do away with it. Stand your ground. The obstacle can be conquered. Blessed is the life which is so thoroughly rooted down into the life of God that it can feel and know that, though time moves slowly in long-drawn-out tests and trials, God's tides move steadily on in accomplishing His glorious purposes.
"For God is always at work in you to make you willing and able to obey his own purpose" (Philippians 2:13)
